Latte is the Italian word for milk. In spoken english, “Latte” is sometimes used as an abbreviation of “caffe latte” which must be given its full title in Italian – especially in cafes in Europe – unless you want just a glass of mil.

Singaporeans are drinking more coffee – brewing demand has raised coffee bean imports in the last few years.

The whole coffee industry grew from $1.1 Billion in 3008 to $1.4 Billion in 2011.

The word “coffee comes from Kaffa, a region in ethiopia where coffee beans originated.

Fair trade coffee, launched in the Netherlands in 1988, is coffee that is certified as having been produced and marketed to a stated set of standards that aim to help farmers in the third world.

Coffee is the world’s second most valuable commodity, behind only oil. It provides 25 million jobs and $70 billion revenue every year.

opi Luwak, produced mainly on the islands of Sumatra, Java, Bali and Sulawesi in Indonesia, is the most expensive coffee in the world. The price could go up to $700/kg.
